The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Llanfair Orllwyn contained the following places:
"LLANFAIR-ORLLWYN, a parish in the hundred of Troedyraur, county Cardigan, 4 miles E. of Newcastle-in-Emlyn, its post town, and 14 S.W. of Lampeter. It is watered by the river Teifl, which bounds it on the S. The soil is fertile. The living is a rectory in the diocese of St. David's, value £155, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is dedicated to St. Mary."
