Great Bircham is one of the few places in the county for which a census before 1841 containing names survives.

Notes
- All shorthand contractions in the document have been reproduced as written.
- The document contained 2 columns of names which only lined up approximately.
- The meaning of the figure "1" before some names in the first column is unknown but has been included for completeness.
- The only unreadable name is "Sarah Helin/Hebin"? in the 2nd column. Whites 1845 gives a Thomas Hebgin (a farmer) who is probably related. Thomas HEBGIN (bur. Apr 1809 in Great Bircham) married Sarah SEWELL (of Fincham) in Dec 1782 at Shouldham Thorpe
