It was founded before 1899.
There are two buildings, the original Methodist church, and a Sunday school building, next door to one another and in identical styles. The larger church building is now the United Sikh Association and the old Sunday School building is now the church. It is a Grade II listed building, dating from 1899.
The church was built 1904/5, and opened in 1905. The Methodist Church continues to meet in what was the Sunday School building, which is also used by WAM [=Wellington Ave Methodist] Friendship Centre, a family centre which is supported by the church but which is an independent charity, providing a range of services to people in the local area.
This site provides historical information about churches, other places of worship and cemeteries. It has no connection with the churches etc. themselves. For current information you should contact them directly.
