Ch10. | A notice painted on wood below the tower:- | | Mr Thomas POULTON of Lowfield near Tetbury Gent. on the 19th day of February 1851 gave the sum of L100 to Thomas Henry KINGSCOTE Esq and the Rev George Christopher HAYWARD in trust to invest the same in a Savings Bank or Government securities and apply the annual proceeds thereof to the support of the Protestant Church School established in the parish of Nympsfield. The above named trustees or their successors to have the power of withholding the said annual proceeds from the support of such School in case it should at any time appear to them that any other than true Protestant Doctrines are being taught therein and of applying such proceeds to any other Charitable institution the object of which shall be to Extend the Protestant faith. The above named Trustees or the survivor of them to have power to appoint successors in the trust, such successors to be persons of responsibility and such as profess the true Protestant Faith. NB The above sum of L100 was invested in the Tetbury Savings bank on the 5th day of March 1851 in the names of the said trustees
