"CHURCH ENSTONE, a hamlet in the parish of Enstone, in the hundred of Chadlington, in the county of Oxford. The parish church is situated in this portion of the village. There are National schools for both sexes."

"CLEVELEY, a hamlet in the parish of Enstone, in the hundred of Chadlington, in the county of Oxford, 5 miles N.W. of Woodstock. Neat Enstone is its post town."

"GAGINGWELL, a hamlet in the parish of Enstone, hundred of Chadlington, county Oxford, 6 miles N.W. of Woodstock."

"LIDSTONE, a hamlet in the parish of Enstone, hundred of Chadlington, county Oxford, 1.5 mile N.W. of Neat Enstone, and 3 miles E. of Chipping Norton. It is situated on the river Glyme."

"NEAT-END-STONE, a hamlet in the parish of Enstone, hundred of Chadlington, county Oxford, half a mile S. of Church-Enstone, and 5 miles S.W. of Chipping-Norton. It is sometimes called Road-Enstone, on account of the high road to Birmingham and Worcester passing through it. The waterworks constructed here by Thomas Bushel are now extinct. There is a place of worship for the Methodists."
