Lenton

  • A Cluniac priory was established here in 1105.
     
  • An old church, built in 1105 and standing on the site of St. Anthony's Hospital in the Priory courtyard, was taken down in 1844. It had been founded by William PEVEREL in the reign of Henry I.
     
  • The Anglican parish church is dedicated to the Holy and Undivided Trinity.  It was built in the Early English Style.
     
  • The church was consecrated in October, 1842.
     
  • The church was restored in 1879 and again in 1894.
     
  • The church seats 660.
