The following persons survived the crash of the British-built airship "R101" on October 5th 1930.

On October 5th 1930 the British-built airship "R101" crashed into a hillside near Beauvais in France killing everybody on board. [The underlined words were in the text supplied to GENUKI - but see "R101 Survivors"]

The following are listed as having been killed:-

Documents on the R101 are held in the Public Record Office in Kew under AIR 3,5,& 11. Photographs of the wreckage are under AIR5/1070 via 6/573/1/.

  • For people famous or infamous enough to get their names in the newspapers or to have obituaries, or posh enough to announce their births, marriages and deaths, see Newspapers.
  • Search engines like Google are always worth a try, although you may have to scroll through many pages of hits.
  • Archive and Library catalogues usually have synopses which will often allow you to find a name even if it is not in the book title.
