Church History information for The Holy Angels, Claremont, Church of England and places above it in the hierarchy

The Holy Angels, Claremont, Church of England

It was founded in 1915.

The original building was dedicated 10 November 1915 and the permanent church consecrated in January 1928, dedicated to Holy Angels, a title unique in the Anglican Church. The name was thanksgiving for the reported intervention of angels in the battle of Mons when the fortune of the Contemptables was reversed with no explanation except the vision of angels seen by the Germans.

Like a Mighty Tortoise by Rev Arthur J.Dobb.

This building has been in more recent time replaced by the present church.
