Introduction
From the back dust cover;
"This is a fascinating book celebrating the launch in 1804 of Wales' first English language paper.
Its pages are full of interesting material including a succinct introduction, some 600 extracts from the editions, 40 images relevant to The Cambrian and its era, and several appendices which provide important background information and comment.
This book should appeal to readers with an interest in local history, Cambrian enthusiasts and seasoned researchers who have used the remarkable archives of bound copies which are our enviable legacy.
Students and general readers will also find the book interesting. They should however beware - for the flavour of The Cambrian and its times, which this book provides, could turn them into enthusiasts. "
Footnote;
