"CILFYNYDD-CUM-NORTON BRIDGE, 2 miles north, is an ecclesiastical parish, formed in 1912 from the parish of Eglwysilan. The church of St. Luke, erected in 1893, is a building of stone, ... there are 350 sittings. The register dates from the year 1912. The living is a vicarage, net yearly value £180, in the gift of the Bishop of Llandaff and the Board of Patronage, ... There is also an English and Welsh Baptist chapel."
