The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Silian contained the following places:
"SILIAN, a parish in the hundred of Moyddyn, county Cardigan, 2 miles N.W. of Lampeter, its post town, and 11 from Aberaeron. The village is small. The living is a curacy annexed to the vicarage of Llanwnnen, in the diocese of St. David's. The church, dedicated to St. Sulian, is an ancient structure with an old round font, and a runic pillar stone."
