The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Magowry contained the following places:"MAGOWRY, a parish in the barony of Middlethird, county Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 3 miles S.E. of Killenaule, its post town. It is 2½ miles long by 1½ broad. The soil is good. The road from Killenaule to Carrick-on-Suir traverses the interior. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Cashel, value with Killenaule, £817, in the patronage of the bishop."
