The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Killavinoge contained the following places:

"KILLAVINOGE, (or Clonmore), a parish in the barony of Ikerrin, county Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 4 miles N. of Templemore, its post town. It is 5 miles long, and its greatest breadth is near 4 miles. The surface, which lies along the left bank of the river Suir, contains a large proportion of bog, but the soil is good. The road from Rathdowney to Templemore traverses the interior. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Cashel, value with Templemore, £700, in the patronage of the bishop. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to those of Templemore and Killea. There are two day schools. Dromard is the principal residence.
