"CULLENWAINE, a par, partly in the bar, of Clonlisk, in King's County, and partly in the bar. of Ikerrin, in the co. of Tipperary, prov. of Leinster, Ireland. It is situated on the roa from Dublin to Limerick, and contains the post town of Moneygall. Much bog occurs within the limits of the parish. The living is a rect. in the dioc. of Killaloe, val. with Templeharry, £299, in the patron. of the bishop. There is a Roman Catholic chapel at Moneygall, united to that of Dunkerrin. There is a free school for girls, a school supported by the rector, and one private school. The chief seats in the neighbourhood are Greenhills, Silverhills, and Rathenny. A fair is held on the 20th August and 11th November."
