The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Bruis contained the following places:

"BRUIS, a parish in the barony of Clanwilliam, in the county of Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 4 miles to the S.W. of Tipperary. The soil is fertile and the surface hilly, rising at Slievenamack to the height of 1,200 feet. The living is a rectory, united with that of Lattin, in the diocese of Cashel, Emly, Waterford, and Lismore. The principal seat is Mount Bruis."
