"DRUMATEMPLE, a par. in the bar. of Ballymoe, in the cos. of Galway and Roscommon,, prov. of Connaught, Ireland, 6 miles S.E. of Roscommon. It is situated on the river Suck. The surface consists of a good soil, and has a large proportion of bog. The living is a vic. in the dioc. of Elphin, val. with Oran, £137, in the patron. of the bishop. The church is at Ballymoe, and was built by the late Board of First Fruits in 1832, , where is also the Roman Catholic chapel. Here are five day schools. Petty sessions are held occasionally. The principal are - Dundermott, Laragh, Tennypark, Leabeg, Currisdoona, and Bopeep. Limestone is quarried, and there is an iron mine in the parish. There is a Danish rath and a mineral spring at Cloondera. A fair is held on the 1st February."
