The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Moyglare contained the following places:

"MOYGLARE, a parish in the barony of Upper Deece, county Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 1 mile E. of Kilcock. Maynooth is its post town. It is 3 miles long by 2 broad. The soil is mostly good. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Meath, value £172. The church is old, and near it are the ruins of an ancient castle. Moyglare House is the principal seat."
