The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Knockcommon contained the following places:

"KNOCKCOMMON, a parish in the barony of Lower Duleek, county Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles S.E. of Slane, its post town. The surface lies along the S. bank of the river Boyne. The interior is crossed by the road from Slane to Dublin. The living is a curacy in the diocese of Meath, value with Duleek, £232. There is a Roman Catholic chapel united to that of Donore. Newtown is the neighbouring residence.
