The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Timogue contained the following places:"TIMOGUE, a parish in the barony of Stradbally, Queen's County, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles S.S.W. of Stradbally, its post town. It is crossed by the road from Stradbally to Ballynakill, and is traversed by the river Straid. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Leighlin, value £119. In the Roman Catholic arrangement it is united to Stradbally. There is a National school. Timogue House is the principal residence."
