The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Tullaherin contained the following places:"TULLAHERIN, a parish in the barony of Gowran, county Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles S.S.W. of Gowran. The living is a vicarage joined to Kilfane (which see). Castlefield House is the chief residence. There are the ruins of a tower standing 70 feet high, and the remains of two churches and three castles.
