The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of St Martins contained the following places:"ST. MARTIN'S, (or Templemartin), a parish in the barony of Gowran, county Kilkenny, 2 miles E. by S. of Kilkenny. It is of small extent, but fertile, lying along the banks of the river Nore., The church is in ruins. There is a Roman Catholic chapel. A fair is held on the 22nd November.
