The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Pleberstown contained the following places:"PLEBERSTOWN, a parish in the barony of Gowran, county Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles S.E. of Thomastown. It is about 1½ mile in length, and the same in breadth. The surface, which lies along the river Nore, consists of a very fair soil. The living is a curacy in the diocese of Ossory, united to the benefice of Burnchurch, joint value £700, in the patronage of the crown. Coolmore House is the chief seat.
