The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Kilmadum contained the following places:"KILMADUM, a parish in the baronies of Fassadinin and Gowran, county Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 5 miles S. of Castle-Comer, its post town. It is 2 miles long by 1 mile broad. The surface is hilly, but consists of a good soil. The small stream Douglas drains the interior. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ossory, value with Dunmore, £179, in the patronage of the crown. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to those of Mothell and Dysart.
