In 1868, the parish of Garranamanagh contained the following places:"GARRANAMANAGH, a parish in the barony of Crannagh, county Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles N.W. of Freshford. Bennet's Bridge is its post town. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ossory, value with Burnchurch, £700, in the patronage of the crown. In the Roman Catholic arrangement it is united to Freshford.
