In 1868, the parish of Famma contained the following places:"FAMMA, (or Fammer), a parish in the barony of Gowran, county Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles S.E. of Thomastown, its post town. It is situated on the banks of the Nore. The living is an impropriate curacy in the diocese of Ossory, value, with Thomastown, £416, in the patronage of the bishop. Brownsbarn is the neighbouring demesne.
