The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Ballylinch contained the following places:"BALLYLINCH, a parish in the barony of Gowran, in the county of Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles to the W. of Thomastown. It is situated near the confluence of the river Nore and King's River. The living is a vicarage united with that of Burnchurch, in the diocese of Ossory, Ferns, and Leighlin, Mount Juliet is the seat of Earl Carrick."
