The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Ballymany contained the following places:"BALLYMANY, a parish in the baronies of East Offaly and Connol, in the county of Kildare, province of Leinster, Ireland, 5 miles to the E. of Kildare. The river Liffey runs through the parish. The living is a rectory united with that of Killashoe in the diocese of Dublin, Glendalagh, and Kildare. Fairs are held in April, August, and November.
