"KILQUANE, a parish in the barony of Corkaguiny, county Kerry, province of Munster, Ireland, 6 miles N.N.W. of Dingle, its post town. It is 5 miles long by 3 broad. The surface, which consists of part of the Corkaguiny peninsula, lies between Brandon and Ballydarid heads. It partakes largely of the wild and mountainous character which prevails throughout the district of Munster. The living is a suspended rectory in the diocese of Ardfert and Aghadoe. There are two hedge-schools."
