"CLOGHRAN-SWORDS, a parish and post town in the barony of Coolock, in the county of Dublin, province of Leinster, Ireland, 5 miles to the N. of Dublin. It is situated on the road from Swords to that city. The soil is good, on a limestone bottom. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Dublin, Glendalagh, and Kildare, value £176, in the patronage of the crown. The church was built in the beginning of the 18th century. Here once existed a rath, near the site of which stands Castle Moat."
