In 1868, the parish of Ballymartin contained the following places:

"BALLYMARTIN, a parish in the baronies of Upper and Lower Belfast, in the county of Antrim, province of Ulster, Ireland, 8 miles to the E. of Antrim. It lies on the south-east side of the Six-mile Water. The living is a rectory united with the vicarage of Carnmoney, in the diocese of Down, Connor, and Dromore."
