The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
"WITHYBROOK, a parish in the hundred of Knightlow, county Warwick, 7 miles N.W. of Rugby, and 8 N.E. of Coventry, on the river Sow, near the Oxford canal. The parish includes the hamlet of Hopsford. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Worcester, annexed to that of Monks-Kirby. The church is dedicated to St. George or to All Saints."
"HOPSFORD, a hamlet in the parish of Withybrook, Kirby division of the hundred of Knightlow, county Warwick, 6 miles N.E. of Warwick, and 7 N.W. of Rugby. It is situated near the Oxford canal, and the river Tow."
