CRACKMARSH, or Crakemarsh, a constablewick in Uttoxeter parish, Stafford; on the river Dove, 2 miles N of Uttoxeter. It belonged, before the Conquest, to Earl Algar; and passed to the Ferrerses, the Verdons, the Berghershes, and others.

CREIGHTON, a constablewick in Uttoxeter parish, Stafford: 2 miles NNW of Uttoxeter. Real property, £1,517.

LOXLEY, a liberty in Uttoxeter parish, Stafford; 2 miles SW of Uttoxeter. Real property, £2,706. The manor, with Loxley Hall, belongs to the Kynnersley family. Robin Hood is said to have been a native, and to have had here one of his forest haunts.
