"CRESWELL, an extra-parochial place in the S. division of the hundred of Pirehill, in the county of Stafford, 2 miles N.W. of Stafford. It is situated on the Grand Junction railway. There is no church, and only half-a-dozen houses. The living is a sinecure rectory in the diocese of Lichfield, value £20, in the patronage of Captain Whitby."
