"LOAD AND LONG, hamlets forming a chapelry in the parish and hundred of Martock, county Somerset, 4 miles W. of Ilchester and 5 S.W. of Somerton. The navigable river Yeo, or Ivel, flows through the neighbourhood, and is here crossed by abridge. The living is a curacy* annexed to the vicarage' of Martock, in the diocese of Bath and Wells.
