"LANGFORD, a hamlet partly in the parish of Burrington, hundred of Brent, and partly in that of Churchill, hundred of Winterstoke, county Somerset, 6 miles N.E. of Axbridge. It is situated on the road from Bristol to Axbridge. The hamlet is divided into Upper and Lower Langford, in which latter the village is situated."
