"BARWICK, a parish in the hundred of Houndsborough, in the county of Somerset, not far from Yeovillage The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £100, in the patronage of J. Newman, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene. There are two flax mills in the village, which give employment to some of the workpeople.
