"GOSBECK, a parish in the hundred of Bosmere, county Suffolk, 4 miles E. of Needham-Market, and 7 N. of Ipswich, its post town. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Norwich, value £316. The church is a small edifice, with a square embattled tower. It is dedicated to St. Mary. Sir W. F. F. Middleton, Bart., is lord of the manor."
