"CORNWELL, a parish in the hundred of Chadlington, in the county of Oxford, 2.5 miles W. of Chipping Norton, its post town. The parish is of small extent, and contains only a few scattered houses. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Oxford, value £140, in the patronage of the lord chancellor. The church is an ancient building, with a tower. Miss Penyston is lady of the manor.
