"UPTON, a chplry. in the par. of Castor, lib. of Peterborough, co. Northampton, 6 miles from Peterborough, its post town, and 2 N.E. from Wansford. The village is situated on the river Nene, which frequently inundates the adjoining meadows. There are stone quarries. The living is a perpet. cur. in the dioc. of Peterborough, in the patron, of the bishop.
