"SPRATTON, a parish in the hundred of Spelhoe, county Northampton, 6½ miles N.W. of Northampton, its post town. The village is situated on the road from Northampton to Leicester and the river Nen. The Pytchley hounds meet in this neighbourhood. The parish includes the hamlet of Little Creaton, belonging to the ward of Guilsborough. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Peterborough, value £375. The church, dedicated to St. Luke, was restored in 1846. The parochial charities produce about £48 per annum. "LITTLE CREATON, a hamlet in the parish of Spratton, in the county of Northampton, adjoining Great Creaton. It contains about twenty houses. The tithes were commuted in 1782.
