"DINGLEY, a parish in the hundred of Corby, in the county of Northampton, 2 miles E. of Market-Harborough, and 8½ N. of Kettering. It is situated on the river Welland, by which it is bounded on the N.W. The scenery around is fine. The greater part of the parish is fine grazing land, with 150 acres of woodland. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough, value £340, in the patronage of H. H. Hungerford, Esq., who is lord of the manor. The church is dedicated to All Saints. The charities amount to £1 per annum. Dingley Hall stands on the site of the preceptory founded in the reign of Stephen. It belonged to the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem."
