"COGENHOE, (or Cooknoe), a parish in the hundred of Wymersley, in the county of Northampton 5 miles E. of Northampton. It is situated on the river Nen, which separates this parish from that of Ecton. The Peterborough railway passes near the village. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough, value £245, in the patronage of G. Burnham, Esq. The church, dedicated to St. Peter, is in a mixed style of architecture. The Wesleyans and Baptists have chapels."
