"BURTON-LATIMER, a parish in the hundred of Huxloe, in the county of Northampton, 4 miles to the S.E. of Kettering, its post town. It gives name with Isham to a station on the Midland (south-east branch) railway. Some of the inhabitants are employed in a silk factory. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough, of the annual value of £1,000, in the patronage of D. B. Bevan, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. The charitable endowments consist chiefly of the revenue of a free school, and amount to about £185 per annum. Burton Hall is the chief residence."
