"BUGBROOKE, a parish in the hundred of Nobottle Grove, in the county of Northampton, 6 miles to the S.W. of Northampton. Weedon is its post town. It is situated on a branch of the river Nen, over which is a suspension bridge, and is intersected by the Northampton and Peterborough branch of the London and North-Western railway, and the Grand Junction canal. Watling Street passes along the western edge of the parish. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough, of the annual value of 1741, in the gift of the Rev. Dr. Harrison. The church is an ancient building, in various styles, dedicated to St. Michael. It contains a fine screen and a sculptured octagonal font. There is a chapel for Baptists in the village.
