The congregation was founded in the 12th Century, with the current church building constructed in 1860-1861 (but making some re-use of 14th century masonary).  The church closed in 2011, and in 2012 the church building was offered for sale, on the condition it was not converted into a private dwelling (the church is a Grade ll Listed Building).
