A War Memorial Cross was dedicated in October 1920. It is a Celtic round cross standing on a plinth on a granite base. There are no names inscribed on the memorial.
John Readman provides the following, taken from the Roll of Honour at St. Michael's church. It's for the Great War 1914-1919. It lists all the people from the village who went to war and names those who were killed:

- This place was an ancient parish in Lincoln county and became a modern Civil Parish when those were established.
- The parish was in the ancient Bradley Haverstoe Wapentake in the Central Lindsey district in the parts of Lindsey.
- The parish was within the parliamentary borough of Great Grimsby.
- In April, 1923, this Civil Parish was abolished and most of the land amalgamated into Grimsby Civil Parish.
- District governance is provided by the North-East Lincolnshire Council.
- Bastardy cases would be heard in the Grimsby petty sessional courts.
- As a result of the 1834 Poorlaw Amendment Act, this parish became part of the Caistor Poor Law Union.
- In 1890, this parish was transferred to the new Grimsby Poor Law Union.
- The children of this parish attended school at Great Coates.
- Little Coates school was opened in Harlow Street in 1973, and is still functioning.
