“EVEDON, a parish in the wapentake of Aswardhurn, parts of Kesteven, county Lincoln, 2 miles N.E. of Sleaford, its post town, and railway station on the Great Northern line. The Sleaford canal passes near it. Haverholm Priory is situated in the parish. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Lincoln, value £300. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. The register commences in 1558. The Earl of Winchilsea is lord of the manor."

Evedon is both a village and a parish, just 2 miles east of Sleaford. Kirkby la Thorpe parish is just to the south. The parish is on a rise above the River Slea and covers just over 1,300 acres.

- This place was an ancient parish in county Lincoln and became a modern Civil Parish when those were established.
- The parish was in the ancient Aswardhurn Wapentake in the North Kesteven division in the parts of Kesteven.
- The parish was moved to the Flaxwell Wapentake in the North Kesteven district around 1835.
