- The parish was in the Loughborough sub-district of the Loughborough Registration District.

- The church is in the rural deanery of East Akeley.
- The Baptist chapel was founded in 1780 and erected in 1847.
- The Wesleyan Methodist chapel was built in 1845.
- Civil Registration began in July, 1837.
- The parish was in the Loughborough sub-district of the Loughborough Registration District.
Wordthorpe is a village and a township which lie about 1.5 miles south of Loughborough. In the late 1800s, the township was managed as a parish, covering about 411 acres, most of which was pasture for sheep and cattle.

- This place was a hamlet in Loughborough parish for centuries. In December, 1866, it was formed as a Civil Parish.
- The parish is in the ancient West Goscote Hundred in the mid division of the county.
- On 1 April, 1935, the Civil Parish was abolished and amalgamated back into Loughborough Civil Parish. 112 acres were transferred to Quorndon Civil Parish and another 7 acres went to Woodhouse Civil Parish.
- Bastardy cases would be heard in the Loughborough petty session hearings each Wednesday.
- As a result of the 1834 Poor Law Amendment Act, this parish became part of the Loughborough Poor Law Union.
