Peckleton is a village and a parish which lie about 8 miles west of Leicester and 6 miles northeast of Hinckley. The parish covers about 2,180 acres and includes the village of Kirkby Mallory and the hamlet of Tooley Park.

• Inside the church is a wooden battlefield cross to sapper George William Faulkner FALLODOWN, originally fixed to the family gravestone in the churchyard. It was moved inside the church and rededicated in July 2007. FALLODOWN died 28th June 1918 aged 23.
   
• On the south wall of the church there is a brass plate bearing the names of the men connected with this parish who fell in the Great War, 1914-18.
   
• Volunteers cleaned the War Memorial in 2013 so that the names were again legible.
   
• There are only two names listed on the War Memorial brass plaque inside St. Mary Magdalene Church.
   
• Lt.-Col. James Farish Malcolm FAWCETT resided at Peckleton House in 1925. The Colonel was a noted Lepidopterist.
