• This place was long a township in Loughborough parish in Leicestershire, but was incorporated as a separate Civil Parish in December, 1866.
   
• The parish was in the ancient West Goscote Hundred in the northern division of the county.
   
• In March, 1891, the Civil Parish was reduced in size to enlarge both Garendon Civil Parish and Loughborough Civil Parish.
